With MASPware GPSmeter you can measure short and long distances using an internal or external GPS receiver. The program shows distance travelled in real terms and/or the linear distance between the start and end positions. Functions accurately whether you're measuring relatively short distances (i.e. in tens of meters) or longer distances, like the distance by car to your work.

Precision depends on used GPS receiver, but you can expect accuracy within 1-5 yards/meter.
